Originally released in September 2018, Arlie’s WAIT EP marked the debut release from the Nashville indie pop outfit led by singer-songwriter-producer Nathaniel Banks. The EP featured standout tracks “barcelona boots,” “big fat mouth,” and “too long” – all of which persist as fan favorites nearly 5 years later. The album was written and self-produced by Banks, with co-production from Andrew Sarlo.

Hailed for its striking synthesis of classic pop melodies with wildly creative modern production, the project immediately drew acclaim for its invigorating songcraft, meticulous production, and playful, summertime energy. Upon release, FLAUNT praised the band for “fusing a sound both futuristic and vintage.”Ones to Watchsimilarly heralded the EP as:“a true collage of everything from pop to alternative, pulled together with a squelching kaleidoscopic flare… beaming with lyrical savviness that exudes alternative infatuation.” The success of WAIT brought nearly non-stop touring – including support slots for Rostam, Mt Joy, COIN & Cold War Kids, show-stealing sets at festivals like Bonnaroo, SXSW & Forecastle, and an East Coast headline run that included sold-out shows from Nashville to Brooklyn.The band was also named to NME’s prestigious “100 New Bands” annual artists to watch list, with the magazine declaring WAIT “pop triumphs you can definitely sink your teeth into.”
